WHAT ARE OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL DISORDERS?

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders are atypical patterns within orofacial structures.

Orofacial Myology includes evaluation and treatment of:

1. Abnormal non-nutritive sucking habits (thumb, pacifier etc)

2. Abnormal oral rest posture (mouth open, tongue out)

3. Abnormal neuromuscular muscle patterns while eating 

4. Abnormal breathing patterns 

5. Abnormal swallow patterns

6. Abnormal speech patterns

7. Pre-Post operation treatment for TOTS (tethered oral tissues)
